The new GMC Acadia is longer and broader than the previous model, giving it a more aggressive stance. The front end has been completely redesigned, with a new grille and headlight design. LED daytime running lights are standard on all models. The rear end features newly designed taillights and a revised bumper.

The Acadia rides on 19-inch aluminum wheels (standard on SLT and Denali models) or 20-inch wheels (optional on SLT and Denali). All-wheel drive is available across the lineup.

GMC has also made several changes to improve the Acadia's aerodynamics, including active grille shutters and adaptive cruise control with stop/start technology. As a result, the Acadia has a drag coefficient of just 0.33, making it one of the most aerodynamic SUVs on the market.

The dimensions of the new Acadia are 191.4 inches long, 78.9 inches wide, and 66.3 inches tall. The ground clearance is 6.9 inches, and the wheelbase is 112.5 inches.
